After participating in CURRENT TOPICS IN FATS AND HEALTH you will be able to...
- locate, evaluate, and use online resources containing up-to-date information that will help you construct your own knowledge about basic lipid metabolism, epidemiology of obesity, and diseases related to lipid metabolism such as cardiovascular disease.
- counsel and plan diets for your clients or patients using current public health recommendations and behavior change theories.
This interactive professional development program is 5 weeks long. Each week there will be two sessions and you should be able to complete each session in less than one hour.
You will work on the sessions at your own pace - there are no scheduled class meetings.
Typically there is one discussion per week. You are strongly encouraged to participate in the discussions. Discussions are asynchronous, which means that you participate at a time that is convenient for you.
During the final session, you can complete a short assessment and pay the required fee in order to receive a certificate documenting your participation.

- reply to others in the online discussion,
- and/or complete an assessment.
